Friends and family of the late Megan Newton have set up a fund at the Victoria Foundation to create a theatre award in her honour. Megan had been the operations manager for Intrepid Theatre at the time of her death from cancer earlier this month.

22 Post-Secondary Students Receive Premier’s Scholarships For Study Abroad

Victoria, B.C., June 5, 2012 – Premier’s scholarships valued at $6,000 to $10,000 for study abroad have been awarded to 22 B.C. students, the Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society announced today. A total of $148,000 was awarded to the B.C. public post-secondary students. This year’s recipients will go to a variety of countries to study topics such as anthropology, human kinetics, fine arts and international relations (see list of recipients).
