Victoria’s Youth Vital Signs 2013
VICTORIA – Oct. 3, 2013 – The Victoria Foundation released the 5th edition of Victoria’s Youth Vital Signs today, a unique measure of the vitality of our city from a youth perspective.
The report gives survey participants aged 15 to 24 in our region a way to have their voices heard. The cost of living, employment and education ranked among the top concerns in this year’s youth survey, with mental illness and homelessness rounding out the top five most important issues.
Survey results also showed grades in all 13 key issue areas improved over last year, with both education and sports and recreation receiving highest marks, each with a B+. Employment and youth housing each received the lowest scores with a C+.
