Donor Spotlight
Donors who give to the Education and Learning Fund want to help ensure the doors are open for everyone to access the educational opportunities they need – be it literacy initiatives, digital technology resources, early childhood education, access to post-secondary school, and more. Donors want to ensure their gifts will have the farthest reach by being pooled with other donors’ gifts, then granted strategically to many organizations with the greatest need.
There are many vital initiatives that support learning opportunities in the capital region. Donors can trust the Victoria Foundation to put their gifts to the best possible use, based on a deep knowledge of who these organizations are, and the strong connections it’s made with community members who are passionate about giving everyone opportunities to broaden their horizons.

Impact Spotlight
The Maritime Museum of BC is just one of many learning institutions in Greater Victoria that have benefited from gifts to the Education and Learning Fund. Executive Director Brittany Vis says during the COVID-19 pandemic “funding [through] the Victoria Foundation enabled us to keep our full-time staff and the capacity to rethink our programs as digital offerings.”
Brittany says the museum is now in a space where it can operate rotating exhibits along with a series of programs and workshops, like its Museum Tots program and craft workshops. She says the museum “wouldn’t be here” if it weren’t for generous gifts to the Community Actions Funds.
