Donor Spotlight
Donors who give to the Racial Equity Fund want to help communities of all racial and cultural backgrounds thrive in Greater Victoria. They want to ensure their gifts will have the farthest reach by being pooled with other donors’ gifts, then granted strategically to an array of non-profits and charities with the greatest need.
There are dozens of vital organizations in our community fighting for just and equitable spaces that allow people of all racial backgrounds to live life to the fullest. Donors can trust the Victoria Foundation to put their gifts to the best possible use, based on deep knowledge and strong connections it’s made with community members who are passionate about equity for everyone.

Impact Spotlight
Surrounded by Cedar Child and Family Services is just one of the many organizations to benefit from generous gifts to the Racial Equity Fund! This funding has helped the non-profit deliver child and family services strongly rooted in Indigenous cultural values and world views. It ensures urban Indigenous children and youth grow up connected to family, community, and culture.
“It makes me a little teary to think how much the general operating funding [through] Victoria Foundation helped,” said Executive Director Jennifer Chuckry. “We were able to purchase laptops and audio-conferencing licenses. I’m not sure how we would have been able to meet our technology needs without this assistance, which definitely have had a direct impact on our families,” she added.
