His Excellency, the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, helped launch the Victoria Foundation's new Smart & Caring Community Fund Thursday, July 19. The two-pronged fund will support the creation of new endowments for Vancouver Island charities and also support a physical literacy program developed by the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence to combat childhood obesity and inactivity.
