What is Vital Victoria?

Vital Victoria: Greater Victoria’s Data Hub was launched in 2021 as a companion to Victoria’s Vital Signs magazine and report. Tracking over 70 indicators on quality of life in our region, this user-friendly digital hub provides open access to important regional and demographic data. It also allows the Victoria Foundation to track more indicators with more years of data than we ever could in the magazine.

Vital Victoria Data Hub, Housing Issue Area

How does the data hub work?

Divided into 11 key themes, including ‘Belonging & Engagement’, ‘Environmental Sustainability’, ‘Housing’ and more, each theme contains a series of indicators. In qualitative research, these provide a measure of concepts like ‘core housing needs’ or ‘youth sense of belonging’.

If you click on an indicator page, you’ll find graphs or maps visualizing the data, a description of the indicator and data sources along with the coordinating Sustainable Development Goal. You can also download the graph data.

Vital Victoria: Greater Victoria’s Data Hub also offers other information including articles and reports, the full results of our Vital Signs survey, Vital Signs magazines, and our sponsor list.
