Girls Circle Project (Restorative Justice Victoria)

Victoria's Youth Vital Signs reported that sense of connection is in decline. In 2013, 64% of youth respondents (15-24) told us they felt connected to their community in Greater Victoria, trending downward from 2012 (71%), 2011 (88%), 2010 (75%) and 2009 (75%).

Because teens face external societal pressures and declining connection to their community, Victoria Restorative Justice Society offers the Girls Circle Project. The program is a weekly meeting where these teens can talk openly about topics that are important to girls. Offered at three middle schools in Greater Victoria, it's a safe, supportive program to help girls develop coping skills that will guide them throughout their lives.
