Supporting newcomers in Greater Victoria

Host Lucky Budd sits down with Jean McRae, CEO of the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA), to talk about her time working in the immigrant and refugee services sector since 1982. McRae reflects on the experience of supporting the full integration of newcomer immigrants and refugees into the Capital Region and the role the ICA plays. She also talks about the community’s support over the years and how individuals and organizations can better support newcomers in Greater Victoria.

Jean McRae is the Chief Executive Officer of the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) and has been working in the immigrant and refugee services sector since 1982 inclusive of three years working with refugees in Central America. Her experience also includes co-chairing the Western Region Working Group and serving on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Council for Refugees, among many other roles.
