Improve Access to Recreational Sailing
Help Royal Victoria Yacht Club to Buy Two RS Quest Dinghies
To make dinghy sailing more accessible to newer sailors, families, members without boats and anyone else seeking to get out on the water, Royal Victoria Yacht Club has partnered with the BC Amateur Sport Fund to raise $30,000 to purchase two RS Quest dinghies for recreational use by members. These boats will be used only by members, and will not be a part of the learn-to-sail fleet. The boats will be reserved through the club’s online booking system, and will be available for members’ use whenever sailing staff are onsite for other activities.
RS Quest is a modern family dinghy that is stable and big enough for 2 – 4 adults, perfect for Mum or Dad and youngsters – small enough to handle easily ashore and afloat. If we exceed our target for fund-raising, a spinnaker and trapeze option can be added.
Your donations to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club Fund at the Victoria Foundation are eligible for a tax receipt, and will be used to purchase these dinghies with the goal of having them available for the 2022 sailing season.
