Funding Food Banks in Victoria
What does it feel like to be really hungry? And then how does it feel when someone provides you with food?
The name Treno Panino comes from an act of kindness that set me on a path to donating to food banks. I was 18 and traveling solo for the first time, inexperienced and alone in Italy. Navigating between cities with my giant backpack and heavy guitar case, I once boarded a train without realizing the length of the journey, and having packed no food, a deep, painful hunger sank in. A woman sitting next to me (a fellow Canadian) struck up a conversation, and at some point she pulled a sandwich from her bag. When she realised I had nothing to eat, she produced a second one and offered it to me: a panino (sandwich) on a treno (train)! It was considerate and kind, and to me it signifies the importance of us looking out for each other.
Being hungry is the worst, and I want anyone facing that to have access to relief; therefore the Treno Panino fund is dedicated to food security. Thank you for joining me in funding food banks in Victoria!

Once you have an updated Donation Form for Gifts of Securities, complete the form and send a copy to your broker and to the Victoria Foundation. We will look after the rest. Please note: this form is updated annually, so please download a fresh one for each gift of securities.
