There are very few Indigenous professionals working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Many engineering and architecture firms work with Indigenous communities, but few have Indigenous people working within their organizations. Our partners recognize this and want to help Indigenous people pursue careers in our industry.
The KEL,KELOTEN CE S,ISTEW Fund is a corporate fund established at the Victoria Foundation (“VF”). The VF holds and invests the fund, and a portion of the investment income is made available to provide an annual award to support those with an Indigenous background to pursue a career in the engineering and architectural industry.

Our dream is to have more Indigenous STEM professionals out there and want to help them achieve their goals and form their own futures.

GOAL
We want to build an endowment fund that with be able to financial sustain itself into the future and ensure financial support continues to be available for Indigenous engineering and architecture students no matter what.
We also want to use this fund to help students make direct connections with industry professionals. This will produce more opportunities for them to work at places that meet their goals and needs more effectively, allowing them to fully focus their energy on their studies.

    Send cheques to the Victoria Foundation at #200 – 703 Broughton Street, Victoria, BC, V8W 1E2. Please ensure they are made out to the Victoria Foundation. Note the designated fund in the memo line or in a cover letter.
  • Publicly Listed Securities
    Once you have an updated Donation Form for Gifts of Securities, complete the form and send a copy to your broker and to the Victoria Foundation. We will look after the rest. Please note: this form is updated annually, so please download a fresh one for each gift of securities.
