Random Act of Kindness Day® is November 3, 2017!
How will you pay it forward?
We’ve all had those moments. Nothing seems to be going right. You’re lost in your worries, barely noticing the world around you. And then one simple act of kindness – from a stranger, a friend, a co-worker – brightens your day.
The Victoria Foundation is inviting everyone to help inspire smiles with Random Act of Kindness Day® on Friday, November 3.
Since 2008, this special day has brought Canadian communities together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity.
The message is simple: do something nice for someone and ask nothing in return, except that they do something nice for someone else. It doesn’t have to cost a cent. Holding open a door, sharing words of encouragement, saying hello to a neighbour – these are all the kinds of acts that citizens “pay forward” on this special day.
Let your kindness flag fly
Random Act of Kindness Day can be celebrated by businesses, organizations, governments, families, individuals…everyone! We encourage all to do something nice for someone on Friday, Nov. 3.
And help to spread the joy and encourage others by sharing your random acts of kindness via social media. Tag the Victoria Foundation (@VicFoundation on Twitter, @victoriafoundation on Instagram) and use the hashtag #RAKdayYYJ.
Help spread the kindness
Contact kwells@victoriafoundation.bc.ca to receive promotional materials you can display at your place of business to encourage others to take part. These materials include posters, tent cards and the business-card sized Kindness Cards that people can take with them to help spread the word.

Share with your students
We have Random Act of Kindness packages for both elementary and high school levels, to encourage students of all ages to take part. If you would like to take part and share this event with your school, please email kwells@victoriafoundation.bc.ca for more information and to receive a package of materials, including posters and activities.
